Interpol Special Tactical Services
Interpol Special Tactical Services (ISTS) was officially established on November 21, 1967, in the shadows of the Cold War. At this time, global powers sought to control the geopolitical landscape through secretive operations and covert tactics. Recognizing the need for an international body capable of combating these emerging, complex global threats, several visionary leaders within Interpol conceived the idea of a specialized unit - the ISTS.
The ISTS was initially a covert unit comprising just a handful of highly skilled agents, handpicked from various international law enforcement and military organizations. Their mandate was to engage directly with high-risk threats that conventional law enforcement couldn't handle, operating with a level of authority and autonomy unparalleled in international policing up to that point.
Over the course of the Cold War, the ISTS expanded rapidly, training agents to handle the escalating threats from global shadow organizations, rogue militias, and outlawed military elements. The ISTS soon established a reputation for their effective strategies, precise operations, and relentless pursuit of international justice.
Today, under the leadership of Colonel Rajat "Raj" Singh, a decorated officer from the Indian Para Special Forces, the ISTS has evolved into a formidable force with a global reach. With Operational Command Units (OCUs) in strategic locations worldwide, ISTS agents are ready to respond to threats to international security at a moment's notice.
The ISTS operates in close cooperation with local law enforcement agencies and other international bodies. However, due to the sensitive nature of its operations, the ISTS's existence and operations are kept under wraps from the public eye.
Recruitment for the ISTS is a selective process, with candidates chosen from the top graduates of the Interpol Global Training Academies (IGTAs). These agents undergo specialized training, equipping them with the skills to handle high-stakes, high-risk operations that define the ISTS's mission.
In their pursuit of global security and justice, ISTS agents face countless challenges and risks. Regardless, their commitment to their mission remains unwavering, driven by a deep-seated dedication to uphold justice, no matter where it leads them. This resolve, combined with their expertise and resources, makes the ISTS a crucial player in maintaining global peace and security.
