Session 30: Ghost to Coast Report in Pathfinder Pirates | World Anvil

Session 30: Ghost to Coast

General Summary

With nothing left in the caverns to discover, we head back to the ship to continue on course for Amelia’s home continent. Everybody’s angry about something today, me and Amelia choosing to works our off in a productive manner. Owkbanok’s tilted about the charm that was placed on him that’s finally worn off, so he kicks down Amelia’s door to angrily interrogate her. She panics and throws a blanket over me, not noticing the cigarette in my mouth until it’s too late. In a flash, the blanket sets aflame and is tossed aside; but me and Owkbanok aren’t taking responsibility for this. We watch and wait for Amelia to act, but instead, she stands there yelling at us to do something; so I snuff the flame with her expensive dresses. Eventually TT runs in with a bucket of water and is confused as fuck, especially when me and Owk joke around that Amelia attempted to murder me.     She believes this to be the truth and tries to arrest her until we explain what really happened. I’m left to clean up the mess and repair the hole in her floor and come morning, captain makes me fork over the gold to properly repair it. We reach the military port and are treated to signs that warn against piracy, all of them including some cute decor in the form of skeletons hanging from ropes. There’s guards hanging around, donned in elven military garbs; but outside of them, there isn’t anybody around. The air here is weirdly tense and as we walk around, we start thinking we’re being followed. One of the guards definitely recognizes TT, so she’s more than worried about things going wrong. Good foreshadowing on her part, but luckily for her, what goes wrong doesn’t end with us getting our asses kicked.     We make our way into the shop and while Amelia butters up the shopkeeper and puts them in a good mood at first, his attempts at securing a discount on military grade hardware pisses them off. Because of her failed charm, they asked for even more money than what was on the table originally; but we decide not to slaughter these people and steal their goods. Instead, we cough up the gold and get our ship as properly outfitted for the coming trip as possible. We have a month before we reach the first elven port town and in that time, me and Amelia’s relationship becomes strained as everybody keeps accusing us of being official. That’s a level of commitment neither of us are willing to admit to, but as I distance myself, Amelia wields my jealousy as her new weapon to reel me back in.     Doesn’t work. Not falling for it this time. I gather up some of the crew to go hang out and get high off our asses, Amelia strictly forbidden from this “party”. Now she’s the jealous one and throws her own party, making the mistake of inviting my sister who hoards secrets like a fucking crypt keeper. After learning that Amelia threw this party as a big “fuck you” to me, Zoey sneaks off to alert me, but she wants a secret in exchange for her information. I unfortunately agree to her terms, crashing the party with everybody else, which leads to half an hour of me and Amelia screaming back and forth. Some people, like TT, flee the party as they’re sick of the arguing; but the others stick around for that juicy drama only to be disappointed when the two of us slip away to once again to fuck our problems away. Jokes on us cuz the problems remain.     Come morning, some of us are hungover as fuck, but we all have jobs to do. Me and TT spot something shimmering and following after our ship. It’s vaguely ship-like in shape and as Amelia joins us, she’s able to figure out that we’re being chased down by a ghost ship. In fact, it’s the Sea Scoundrel ship we looted a month back. In a matter of minutes, our ship’s overtaken by hostile ghosts and things aren’t looking good. Amelia’s nearly killed and possessed by one, but goes incorporeal herself to slip away and take shelter in the captain’s quarters. She witnesses the captain preparing for battle, but most interesting, she finally figures out why Lonnie spends so much time avoiding everyone. She’s some sort of snake-like creature, but before Amelia can get a better look, Lonnie’s back in her human disguise and trying to act like nothing happened.     Up top, we manage to kill some of the ghosts via magic or direct sunlight. Soon enough, the rest are chased off by our cleric and the ship vanishes. It’s probably not the last time we’ll see any of them, but there’s more pressing matters to attend to. Such as figuring out why TT was getting her ass kicked super hard through it all. Serenity lets her know that the bracers she excitedly yoinked from the hag lair were cursed. In order to break the curse, all magic on the bracers must be removed, which upsets TT greatly. She eventually realizes this is what’s best for self-preservation and with a quick spell, she’s released from the curse. With all the chaos over, Zoey seeks me out to finally collect on the secret I owe her.     Through all her questioning and teasing about me and Amelia, she manages to crack me open. I ramble on about my exes and how I’d totally never let somebody get that close to me again. I’d never make the mistake of falling in love or committing myself to anything, but Zoey sees through all the bullshit. It’s all lies. I’ve fallen for Amelia. With my vague admittance, she holds that secret close and leaves; leaving me to fester in this all alone.
