Session 25: House on the Hill Report in Pathfinder Pirates | World Anvil

Session 25: House on the Hill

General Summary

While dawdling around town waiting for TT to return, Owkbanok spots some suspicious animal tracks and follows along. They lead right up to the mansion TT’s casing, so realizing that these are Cayde’s tracks; he assumes that she’s got everything under control in there and leaves. Me and Amelia wait around, bored out of our minds. With the werewolf problem dealt with, the excitement has waned and we discuss chasing everyone off of the ranch with a crowd of zombies just for fun. Cayde races over, meowing up a storm as he attempts to communicate with us lesser beings, but we’re not getting it. Is he hungry? Did somebody fall in a well? We don’t know!     When Owkbanok returns, it’s then we realize that…Inami’s missing! But we eventually find her and with Cayde’s judging stare, we finally realize that TT’s missing. Oops! Honest mistake that we’re going to fix, so off to the ranch we go. While TT is led into a dining room to have a nice, little chat with the head of the manor; I shapeshift into a cat to assess the situation before we run in and get ourselves killed. The head of the house tries to get answers out of TT as to why she’s here and she eventually cracks. She confesses that we’re pirates and shows him the lovely skin map leading right to this mansion…so he quickly starts passing off his finest, golden china to her to bribe her. He wants us to turn a blind eye to him and he’ll forget all about our crimes. He also tells her that there’s no more werewolves to worry about, so we should all leave town now.     But as my kitty eyes tell me, that’s a lie. I spot a few people in the home who are most definitely werewolves, so I return to the party in time to see TT leaving the mansion with her newfound treasures. She tells us that William, who’s the head of the house, is really nice and gave her all of this willingly. Therefore, we should just leave and head back to the ship. We realize she’s under the effects of a charm spell and even telling her he’s housing werewolves and even more treasure isn’t going to get her to change her mind. We can’t risk storming the ranch with her like this, so we’ll wait until nightfall. But that still leaves the issue of w e r e w o l v e s, so we have to deal with that first. We come up with a brilliant plan that could’ve worked in a perfect world.     We’ll lure the werewolves away from the ranch, give them some bait to chase down, and then take them out before anyone notices a thing. Owkbanok offers to be the bait and disguises himself as a helpless, lost drunk in the streets. The rest of hide away in the shadows, prepping to ambush the werewolves the minute they go for him. But we forgot to consider the wind and with TT’s scent around the corner, the werewolves get the jump on us first. We dispatch two of them, but the third flees back towards the ranch. Not sure how many more are hiding in there, we gather up the townsfolk to tell them that the Hillcocks had been the cause of their werewolf problem. With our angry mob in tow, we finally storm the ranch, killing much of its residents and pillaging everything worth taking.     We gather up as much loot as we can carry before slipping out of town, stealing away with some prized horses and a certain bartender as well.
