Stonebridge

Stonebridge is a medium town on the outskirts of a ruined metropolis. The town is named after the stone arch bridge on the west end of town across the river into the ruins; the calamity that leveled the larger city stopped at the river, so Stonebridge is largely unscathed.   The bridge itself is of an unusual material. To the hand it feels like stone, but it generally takes on the appearance of the sky overhead, which can be disorienting to people unaccustomed to it. The bridge connected the temple of the moon on the east bank and the temple of the sun on the west bank. The moon temple is intact and still in use, but the sun temple is unused and in poorer repair. Each temple has a grand archway on its end of the bridge, but is not directly connected to the bridge itself. The Identify spell reveals:
The bridge is actually stone, but it was modified after it was built via powerful alchemy by a coalition of sun and moon worshippers. It never reflects the sun or moon, only the sky that holds them both, as a symbol of the solidarity between the churches of the moon and sun.
Town population is roughly 3000 people of various races, predominantly human, dwarf, and half-elven. Most of the population works in farms surrounding the city, though visitors from surrounding areas often come to Stonebridge to trade as the town is safer than most.
