Session 2: The Journey Begins

Gained 3pts of luck for re-roll for the group for note-taking.
Sunnydrags himself out of the bed at the inn and moseys down to the bar for breakfast. Nock informs the frog peeps that he’s headed out; goes to the inn. Leucis makes his bed, packs bags, dons armor, makes prayers, gives thanks to acolytes (to carry to the priestess), and heads to the inn. Leucis also grabs breakfast, sitting down next to the weary-eyed Tabaxi.
Mushroom peeps ask Sunny to look for mushrooms while out and warns to not consume directly (can be poisonous). Nock asks why, and they say it needs to be treated before consumption.
We head north out of town, going down the road, and through the farms to the forest. Scrubby brushes and a few trees at first, then lots of trees with some scrubby underbrush. After a couple of hours, the sunlight is thin and just shadows, with the occasional clearing, some with small pools. We notice tracks of small game, evidence of small camps previously set up, and evidence of large game.
At mid-day, Nock asks if we need to stop for sustenance, then asks the others what we would like to eat. Leucis shoots a rabbit, and Nock cooks it up.
We continue traipsing through the woods, and come across a goblin, with weapon drawn. Sunny heads toward it and viciously mocked the goblin. Leucis double-moves up to the goblin, frightening it. Nock moves toward him, yells a warning, and waits for any sort of attack. The goblin shoots Leucis, and is killed by Nock. 4 other of his buddies appear, and one blows a horn. Sunny shoots another goblin, killing instantly. Leucis closes on another but misses his hit. Nock closes in and kills another goblin with a bursting arrow, causing damage to the one next to Leucis. That goblin moves away and tries to shoot at Leucis but fails. The other remaining goblin shoots at Sunny, who catches the arrow and takes no damage. Sunny runs up and kills that goblin in retaliation, splitting the horn. Leucis approaches the last goblin and crushes his chest.
After battle, Leucis investigates the body of the goblin that had the horn without finding anything special, while Nock hears large, incoming creatures. Sonny and Nock take cover, but Leucis gets ready for ranged attack. Two hobgoblins on wolves come crashing through the underbrush. Sunny gets closer, but hides behind another tree, then shatters the opponents. One of the hobgoblins falls off the back of his mount, the other hobgoblin looks unhappy. The wolves are unfazed, but a little shaken up. Leucis shoots the wolf with a rider, then moves to the tree clump Nock is hiding behind, readying his warhammer and shield. Nock kills the last rider. Both wolves head over to Sonny to take a bite out of him, one succeeds. Sonny retaliates with a flourish, killing the one who bit her, and making a small stab at the other. Leucis misses his hit at the remaining one, but Nock shoots it through the eye socket. The “wolves” were actually worgs.
Sonny checks the horn, but doesn’t find anything different about it; takes it anyway. A different goblin had a 939-page tome with grey-green gooey stuff on the back, written in a language that none of the travelers understand. Leucis thinks it may be a spellbook and packs it away. The hobgoblins look better off than the goblins, wearing chain mail and shields, Sonny finds 7GP and 12SP. We leave the area and take a short rest.
We continue on the track, and the afternoon is uneventful. We find a nice camping spot, we eat tack without building a fire, and have a quiet night. Breakfast, then continuing on.
Around midday, Nock almost trips over the corpse of an orc. Sonny finds a couple of copper pieces on him, a number of very small puncture wounds, died while exhausted, and has been dead for 2-3 days. The puncture wounds look like spider bites. 4 CP. Grab a snack, then head on.
A quiet afternoon on the march. Settle down in the evening. The night passes quietly. The morning is cloudy. A hide-armored orc yells something and throws a javelin at Nock, front of the line. Sonny runs up to the orc and pierces him through the eye socket. Leucis advances and fails at Sacred Flame. Another orc in some sort of metal armor appears a ways off and casts something: a spear appears next to Leucis and tries to attack. Another 3 hide-armored orcs appear and throw javelins at Sonny, 2 are off and Sonny catches the third. Sonny blasts the area with the 3 orcs, killing 1. The spiritual spear moves over to Nock. The spellcaster, who has war paint, rushes Leucis but misses with his spear. The orc off by himself runs up to Sonny and misses the swing with his greataxe. Total of 6 orcs, 1 a spellcaster. All dead. Things to investigate nearby.
