Sambraak Desert (Sahm-brawk)

A large expanse of sand and rock, the Sambraak Desert sits in the western half of Acipincera. This expanse holds the towns of Nerton, Noldarul, and Haelrhuhm, and mostly sits in the Plerindunian Kingdom.   A former civilization also lays here, that of the nomadic changeling tribes. These tribes had made their way to Acipincera from Coluberoris, from their homes near the portals to the feywild, during the Iteroris Veheno migrations 80PDR (Pre-Divine Recession) to 40PDR. These tribes wandered the expanse of the desert, only gathering twice each year, until, during this meeting, they were set upon by a group of raiders, led by Hesk, a wizard who then adopted our player character Art. Since this massacre, not many changelings are known to reside on the continent, though word has traveled that more changelings still live in the fey, as well as on the continent of Coluberoris.   Also amongst the sand and plateaus of this desert, lie a temple of Daefungare, god of death. This temple had been taken by a cult of Daefungare Njeimdal, devoted to the one who brought death to millions, and looking to raise them back, they were slain by the party of LGBTDnD, or at least most of them. Legend has it that this temple can be used to divine the Shrine of Daefungare that would allow one to ascend to godhood.   Trails still lead through the desert, stretching north to south, connecting the north and south of the Coastal States of Ornias, through the desert outpost cities of Noldarul and Haelruhm. These trails find messengers, traders and travellers, often led by a guide. These guides may be rangers, druids, or clerics as the Keepers of Iteroris, those who know the land and seek to protect the civilized and natural world from each other.   In and among the sands of this desert also lies desert fauna and flora that may pose a danger to people traveling through the Sambraak. This includes cacti, small carrion birds, and scorpions.
