Xintalla (Palladia 3)

Pronounced Shin-tahl-la, one of two planets in Palladia’s habitable zone, and the third one out from the star. Xintalla was so teeming with life on humanity's arrival that terraforming was actually halted. Since then, many scientific bases have been established to study these new life forms. Together, these bases have transformed thoughts of Terran biology.

Fauna & Flora

Xintalla was home to a plant-based ecosystem far more advanced and complex than any other encountered by humanity thus far. It crawled with tree-life, including unusual horizontal trees that seem to both absorb and reflect energy with incredible efficiency. It was also home to countless microscopic creatures, often in five and six-way symbiotic relationships with one another. At first, thousands of Terran colonists died of new virulent diseases, but an eventual influx of medical personnel including waves of AI scientists helped quell the disease problem and inoculate the inhabitants.
A single inoculation is now required of all visitors to Xintalla, which also means allowing your name to be added to the databases of three different medical corps - Progenature, Inc., Novak Cantor, and The Apothecary. So visitors who would rather remain off the grid had best look elsewhere... or seek ways to make their visit a secret, and take their life into their hands.
