Progenature, Inc.

The extremely low temperatures make Temar perfect for a seed bank - a backup of humanity’s life database. Formerly stowed in Sweden on Earth, the seed bank was destroyed in World War V, but painstakingly rebuilt to the best of humanity’s ability by a company called Progenature, formed for this purpose. They enhanced it by adding animal DNA as well, effectively ensuring the survival of most Earth species catalogued as of the early 2100s.   Of course, some of the creatures’ DNA had become corrupted by radiation, so not all animals can be duplicated perfectly given the lack of external funding for Progenature’s benevolent mission. Some of the mutations resulted in unexpected effects when these creatures were placed prematurely on alien worlds. For example, something about the jungles of Wayfair have allowed for various species planted on the surface from Progenature's DNA bank, to cross-breed that were unable to previously, resulting in a new apex predator, the Thresher. In the wake of many deaths at the hands of Threshers, many Terrans, especially corps attempting to speed colonization, have come to question Progenature's motives and operating procedures, and funding has crawled to a tenth its former level.   Progenature maintains the DNA Bank on Temar, archiving all DNA it can, and providing copies on request to a variety of other organizations, especially those settling the Edge Colonies. Progenature is also attempting to add all new lifeforms encountered on alien worlds to their database prior to those new planets being terraformed. To this end, many Reds work closely with Progenature. Together, they try to ensure those cataloging and distributing life are doing so for benevolent purposes.
