Terran

Appearance
As humanity has yet to discover extraterrestial intelligence in over a century of space travel, Terrans are the original source DNA upon which all other sentient species in the colonized worlds originated. Core Terrans average 5-6 feet tall, with hair and eyes every color of the spectrum. About 10% are enhanced with some element of Cybernetics.
  Physicality
While splicing has become as common as body modification in the 21st century, the core Terran still comprises about 80% of Terran civilization. In fact, core Terrans have the fewest complications with cybernetic upgrades, and even augmenting oneself with a massive number of cybernetics does not affect one’s Terran-ness.
  Culture
There are around 214 billion Terrans, including over 100 billion just on The Wheel itself. Terrans have expanded their control from the Sol system to a dozen others, and have engineered all the splices of Terran they now interact with. Terran culture varies widely from planet to planet, city to city, and even corp to corp.
Post-World War V, Terrans on Earth exist either in a smattering of surviving Dome Cities(ethnicity:4138235a-c99e-4db2-84da-6486cc11e567), or in the radiation-soaked @[Wasteland. On The Wheel and in The Triptych, the elite and powerful determine the direction of humanity. On Edge worlds, factions must cooperate, or risk being torn apart by others, or the worlds themselves. And of course, one or more factions exists for nearly any Terran cause that can be imagined.
  Systems & Corps
In the wake of failure after failure of Terran governments, corporations have stepped up to fill that need. Most Terrans are subdermally chipped to be better ID’ed and served by them, and function in a Reputation system which keeps the peace and provides maximum safety and freedom to the largest possible number of its citizens. Corps provide and control every aspect of Terran life - housing, employment, health, nutrition, security, entertainment, and often, reproduction. Despite the system’s flaws, life is far more convenient within the system than outside of it. Though freelancers and "ungridded" individuals exist, generally, a Terran is a part of a specific corporation’s ecosystem (of which there are hundreds).
Terrans tend to have strong corporate loyalty, yet most corps are not entirely exclusive. If you serve Terran Systems, you can still visit Novak Cantor space and partake in their services, for example. Still, all citizens enjoy the most benefits within their own corporation’s territory, meaning larger corporations tend to be more desirable employers. Many Terrans live their entire lives in service to a single corporation.
