Earth

Three new world wars (WWIII-WWV) have left the Earth an irradiated husk scattered with Domed Cities, sites worldwide that managed to erect forcefields in time to stave off the radiation, prevent disaster, and allow their citizens normal lives. Inhabitants within the domes are citizens of one corporation or another within. In a few cases, the cities are actual bastions of the few national governments that remain.
If you were to ask a citizen of the Colonies their thoughts on Earth (and we have), 91% of them describe Earth with one or more of the following adjectives: "backwater," "racist," "inbred," "xenophobic," or "mutants." A stunning 99.4% of Terran citizens have never been to our original home planet, but understandably so. The future of humanity belongs to the Colonies, and common sentiment is that Earthers "caused their own destruction."
Surveys of Earth's Dome Civilians (those who live within the corporate structure provided by the Domed Cities) indicates that over 95% of born-and-raised Earthers have also never left the planet's surface. Among the reasons for this may include the aforementioned xenophobia, but it should also be noted that a number of Colonies, and their parent corporations, including Terran Systems, have instigated a quarantine of the Earth, and will not accept visitors due to the continued issue of potential contagion from The Source. Rare exceptions are made for corporate emissaries or scientific researchers doing work in the Domed Cities.
Those working on or from Earth must often communicate with those off-planet through holograms, or in rare cases, forge their identities as an off-worlder in order to get off-planet and regain freedom of movement. Highly illegal, this latter method can be punishable by death - especially if the culprit is in fact a Wastelander.

Geography

Earth has seven continents, as we are all used to. The only massive change geologically in the past five hundred years has been the addition of an enormous mountain-range-like Obelisk made of titanium odged int he middle of the Sahara desert. This was caused by the detonation of the first Quantum Bomb, which released what is known as a Little Bang.
Also, the majority of the planet's surface is an irradiated husk on what it once was.
