Tolnavik's Fall

In the early days of Cherra , Tolnavik roamed the world, granting magic to creatures and plants wherever she pleased. She spread her magic first to the plains, then to the forests, before at least setting her sights on the mountains. The oceans and the caves she avoided, for those were not hers to fill. But the mountains she believed to be within her domain.
Maximus, however, said otherwise. As the commander of the winds and rains, he claimed the mountains were his own. Tolnavik at first conceded to this, though as time grew on she had her doubts. What use did the god of the skies truly have for mountains, grown from earth? And so Tolnavik encroached upon the mountains, secretly spreading magic to the beasts therein.
But before she could finish her work, she was caught. Maximus cast her off of his mountains, throwing her far and wide, until she landed in the distant plains of what is now Lefferington. And where she landed a great hole formed. As Tolnavik cried, her tears formed the waters of the oasis, which remain magical to this day.

Historical Basis

There is some evidence that the grotto was formed by a meteorite of some kind, with a large amount of growth and spirit thaumic energy present within it.

Variations & Mutation

Various versions exist which portray one god in a more favorable light than the other.

In Art

H. Leopold's painting Fall From Grace is a recreation of the event, displaying Tolnavik being cast out of the sky by Maximus.
Date of First Recording
The myth seems to predate the idea of the Fallen pantheon, as it seems unlikely to use the same term for a more mundane event.

Thank you for giving me the image of Maximus grabbing Tolnavik and chucking her across the sky.
