tonitruan

Tonitruans are large terrestrial hydrens from the Swamp of Ghosts, Grimoria. Tonitruans are famous for their unique behavior where they will cover their bodies in mud in a swamp, and then they go the a hot volcanic area to heat up and harden the mud over their bodies, forming a suit of protective armour.

Description

Tonitruans are long, about 10.7 (35.1 feet) long on average. They have a bulky rhino-like bodies, with long, thick tails tipped in bony clubs, and stocky legs. Tonitruans have wide, short mouths with large bony chins, and a mouth full of flat teeth. They also have 2 massive tusks extending out of the sides of their mouths. Tonitruans have scaly skin, but their skin is usually covered in a layer of hardened mud, which makes them seem like they're made out of stone.

Behavior

Tonitruans are aggressively territorial herbivores. They will defend their territory by swinging their clubbed tails and attacking with their two massive tusks. The much larger males live solitary lives defending their territories against other males, and the females with travel in small herds. Once every year large groups of male and female tonitruans will meet in one area, which is when the mating happens.
