Elysian empire

The Elysian empire is an empire from the outlands. The current Elysian empire is just a shadow of it's former self, it was once a mighty empire, but it hall lost all of it's land except for it's homeland in Solum. At their height they ruled all of Solum, with the exception of Arakesh, the homeland of The Akreth and the far eastern section of the continent, they also ruled the west coast of Panagon and everything in the sea between Solum and Panagon.

History

in the year-500 there was an empire in The Midlands that was collapsing, hordes of enemies stormed the gates of their cities and they could no longer put up a fight. But a plan was made. This plan was to travel to the The Outlands, which had been theorized to exist, although people were unsure about it's existence, but their was no time to waste, the empire was collapsing so they gathered all of their best ships, loaded them up with settlers and sailed out into the unknown. This expedition would have failed and all of the ships destroyed when trying to cross into the outlands if it weren't for an important person, the god king. The god king at the time was an extremely powerful person, able to tame to deadly waves that would normally destroy the ships, and alter the winds to make it possible for the ships to get their before they ran out of supplies. They sailed south and through the strait west of Drakka. This expedition succeeded, and they landed on a large peninsula in the north east of ancient Solum in -499. They found great hardship at first, but they eventually gained a foothold on the continent. Their leader, the god king continued to increase his mighty power, his power was so great that he was able to single handedly crush his enemies and build magical fortresses to defend his empire's borders. By the year -100 they had reached the height of their empire. They had defeated the The Akreth and driven them back into their homeland and the god king built a magic wall to prevent the akreth from ever threatening the empire again. At that time they ruled all of Solum, with the exception of arakesh, the homeland of The Akreth and the far eastern section of the continent, they also ruled the west coast of Panagon and everything in the sea between Solum and Panagon. But their leader, the god king, who held the empire together had become far too powerful and Ascended, leaving the world forever. In the absence of the god king the empire began to collapse, their lands in Panagon were conquered by an early version of The Iron Legion. With the death of the god king, the wall he had built was weakened and The Akreth's new leader, Asheros destroyed the wall and the akreth began rampaging across Solum, wiping out everything in their path. In the year 880, in the present year, the akreth have marched all the way up to the western border of the Elysian empire's homeland, and are empire was forced to sell it's colonies in the eastern sea to the Merindian Empire in order to be able to afford defending themselves against the The Akreth. In return for letting the Merindian Empire buy their colonies, the Merindian empire has formed an alliance with the Elysian empire, and they are currently working together to fight off the The Akreth, and thanks to this alliance they are actually able to hold off the Akreth and make some gains against them.
