Silent Seeds
General Summary
Gwen, Garth and Rayne traveled through the Golden Loop to Raqib in order to take on a mission to help prepare for the upcoming first battle between Abkheset and the Eternal Sovereignty of the Luminescent Void. Once in Raqib, they were introduced to The Guardian, a mummy lord who used magic to take them to a demiplane. In this demiplane, they met with Tegzod Black-Spike, a gnoll Spymaster who game them their task: travel to the first target city of the war and attempt to undermine the morale of the citizenship there. As a secondary objective, they were to identify and attempt to recruit any potential sympathizers/allies within the city. As a tertiary goal, if they saw any opportunities to sabotage the settlement's defenses they were to take said opportunity. Finally, their overarching objective was to do all this without getting caught.|
Asking The Guardian to teleport them into Sovereignty territory, the party was left there near a small group of ghouls, feasting on an unidentified pile of body parts. Rayne was quickly paralized by the ghouls, but luckily for him, the other two managed to destroy the undead. Disposing of the bodies in the nearby body of water, they moved on to their target city. There, they discovered that the ghouls at the gate were bored and not interested in hearing their concocted story for why they were there, instead they looked at the up-to-date paperwork and let them enter.
Over the next 10 days, the party successfully imbedded two rumors in the settlement. First, that the Sovereign was about to levy a new tithe to pay for the war efforts. Any who could not pay the tithe would be recruited into the armies of the undead. Secondly, Rayne successfully pushed the idea that the poorer people in the settlement had suffered more from the Long Night and it was time to get some recompense for that. Also, while there, the players made contact with a former adventurer, who watched their efforts during the 10 day period they were there in order to decide whether or not he would step in to help lead a rebellion inside the settlement when battle ensued.
The party left this former adventurer with 200gp to help with rebellion costs and used two different methods to return to Raqib. Rayne payed for a phantom chariot and arrived back there in a day. Gwen and Garth hired a chariot and rode to Tetrodora where they took the Golden Loop. There they gave their reports to Tegzod, then spent a few days carousing in Raqib.
