Asset extraction
General Summary
Hearing the call for assistance in the war efforts, Milo gathered his allies, Azim, Roger and Asano, as they met with the leader of a local militia faction in Stag's Ballad. Roger, showing up in a flash with his newly created ship. Asking one of the locals for the encampment, they lead them through to the back of the city, to where a makeshift encampment was set up.
Going into the largest tent, the party came across a well decorated individual, with ornate armor. He dismissed the guards, and introduced himself as Konrad, leader of the group within Stag's Ballad. After a scan across the group, attempting to detect anyone who might be aligned his the enemy, he then revealed his ask. Konrad had a shapeshift, who was planted deep within the city of West Haven, and thinks he may have been compromised. He mentioned he is in a small coffin shop in the southern district of the city, but a description of the individual may be hard, as he often changes it. The individual's name was Latan, and he should respond to the phrase, "Sir Carrah asks for her report." Konrad believes that if they do not act quickly, the chances he gets caught increases, and then could potentially be an asset to Sovereignty. Konrad provided forged travel documents for the party, to help them get into West Haven without suspicion.
The party debated at length the best way to enter the city without raising suspicion. After some deliberation, Milo suggested taking a few items available to them through The Guildpact, to help them disguise themselves. Taking the new airship created by Roger, the party flew across the plane in record time, landing on the far side of Hunter's Glen, before walking to West Haven. Their disguises working, they were able to provide the false documents and successfully entered the city. After asking around, and getting odd looks for asking for a casket merchant, they were lead to Latan's shop, where they entered. Latan, a slightly nervous person, seemed a bit dodgy even after the code phrase was given. Latan explained that a jail that housed dissidents currently had a few people who would be useful to the war efforts, and recommend the party try and rescue those individuals. Before they could formulate a plan, a knock at the door of the shop rang. Azim answered, inviting the guard in, before he was ambushed and disposed of by the combined and quick efforts of the team.
Deciding to take Latan up on his efforts, the party joined him on the way to the jail. Latan through some of his spellcasting, managed a good distraction that would lured most of the guards out of the jail and provided an opening for the party. The party approached carefully, Roger identifying a trap, but unable to disarm it, decided to let Azim trigger it and move one. After moving into the jail central, they encountered the wardens, who swiftly confronted the party. Though the fight was tough, Asano's steadfastness, Milo's cleverness, Roger's spellcasting prowess, and Azim's strength felled the wardens. After doing so, the freed the trapped individuals. two noteworthy individuals were in the mix, a druid who called himself Apophis Brown, and a master spy, known as Yeros, who ended up being the person who Latan wanted to rescue most. While the remaining guards were distracted, the party took the group of refugees to Roger's ship and sailing away, dropping them off with Konrad.
Thankful for their hard work, Konrad said he would forward the information gathered to the leaders of the war effort, and gave an open invitation to Asano to join the Knights of Eternal Vigilance. Konrad was glad to have true allies within Pandora, and after saying their goodbyes, the group headed back to their home in Trader's Cusp.
