The Betrayal of Eos
Disaster / Destruction
The tragic murder of Queen Eos, the daughter of Helios, caused a change in the religious and political landscape of the Western World. As the central pillar of faith and unity in the Ethereon Kingdom, surrounding nations, and territories, her death meant the crumbling and ultimate destruction of a lot of diplomatic relationships and religious partnerships. Casting the world into a new era of uncertainty and twilight.

The Wounding of a World
At the height of the Etherea's and Eos' power, when large parts of the northern coast of Zenith were contained within its borders, its heart and leadership were betrayed. Most still-kept records describe the day as being beautiful, with clear skies gently painting the heavens. The clergymen and high priests of Elysium are gathered at the Hyperion Palace's inner forum to discuss a political matter, with everything being business as usual. Eos is there, taking the stage and voicing her opinion on the matter. A man or woman, humanoid, steps out among the congression, wearing the golden ceremonial robes of the clergy. Seemingly normal, he takes 6 - 7 steps towards her, gaining no reaction from the crowd other than normal diplomatic curiosity... And then he stabs her. A wound cutting the world forever.
The Golden Ordeal's Shield Maidens rushed in and quickly killed the unnamed assailant, too late. Bleeding out from an abyssal wound created by the enchanted rustic blade of her killer, Eos died at the center of the forum, the sun lighting her beauty as it flickered and then left her body. No resurrection ritual was able to bring her back.
The heavens slowly went faint and then deep blue and violet, as the sun vanished beneath the bent horizon of calm solemn waters, casting the world into its first twilight. A twilight of mourning that would last the next 50 years. And things would never be the same.
