Eclipseday Tradition / Ritual in Palimpsest | World Anvil

Eclipseday

Eclipsedays occur when the Wandering Moon (an omen of death) crosses in front of the star Salsabil blocking it from view and casting the city of Palimpsest into a darkness referred to as the "Cone of Shadow". It is customary that no-one goes outside during on Eclipsedays unless they absolutely must.

Observance

Eclipsedays are extra days of the year outside the months, which are named after which of the main constellations the Wandering Moon is closest to at that time. There are four Eclipsedays each year. The first occurs as a leap day after Tinkermoon before Tailormoon begins, followed by the second between Soldiermoon and Sailormoon, the third between Richmoon and Poormoon and finally the last between Beggarmoon and Thiefmoon.
