Kalashtar

Civilization and Culture

History

The Kalashtar, known as Quori'quessir in Elvish, are a unique race born from the union of mortal beigns and quori spirits from the Plane of Dreams. This fusion was initiated to escape the tyranny of the Dreaming Dark, a faction of malevolent quori.   The Kalashtar originated when a group of rebel quori, seeking refuge from the Dreaming Dark, fled to the material plane. These quori merged with willing human hosts, creating a symbiotic relationship. Over generations, this bond became so strong that the two entities effectively became one, resulting in the Kalashtar race.   Kalashtar culture is deeply spiritual, emphasizing meditation, introspection, and the pursuit of enlightenment. They value community and often live in tight-knit groups, maintaining strong bonds with both their human kin and their quori ancestors. Their society is built on principles of peace, harmony, and the betterment of all beings.   Kalashtar often follow the Path of Light, a doctrine dedicated to promoting goodness and countering the influence of the Dreaming Dark. This path can manifest as either introspective contemplation or active efforts to spread light and goodness in the world.   Kalashtar are significant figures in regions where spiritual and mental disciplines are valued. They often serve as advisors, healers, and spiritual guides in their communities. Their unique abilities make them exceptional diplomats, counselors, and psions.   Despite their relatively low numbers, Kalashtar have left a lasting impact on the societies they interact with. Their teachings on inner peace, the importance of dreams, and the battle against dark forces resonate with many cultures
