Bergatt
Where the Ramadûn shines like a beacon of Duergar might, engineering, and unity, Bergatt serves as its shadow. Standing on the shores of Shadowmire River, this small town houses unlawfulness, treachery, and segregation. It is also ripe with many opportunities, as the river flows, so do the travelers and various "exotic" goods and useful materials. Many people call this place their home for a reason.

Government
Bergatt is under the jurisdiction and protection of Ramadûn hence why it is officially ruled by Sarkanet Rama. But because of Bergatt's location, a separate ruler, an overseer so to say is personally selected by the high leader of Ramadûn. The current Bergatt overseer is Targaran Kotrannos.
He is a well-respected military officer with years of experience in security and leading military personnel. His main duty is to suppress any possible rebellions and drow-elven infiltrators. The law comes second in Bergatt. To help him execute his orders, he built a police guard network called Mithril Eye (Mithrildur Gazad).
This network is split into two halves.
Grunts - Very similar to guards, they patrol the streets of Bergatt and fight against small crimes.
Watchers (Banaur) - These are specially trained soldiers specialized in snuffing out any infiltrators. To achieve that, they are trained in magic and illusion-breaking. Their second task is to watch over the cargo that is delivered to Bergatt, if there is anything valuable for Ramadûn , they seize it and send it there.
For everything else, there are trade guilds. Most of them are closely working with Mithril eye. It is an interconnected system. The guilds get protection and their voting rights for changes in Bergatt and Mithril eye gets control over the valuables and information.
Since the leadership funnels resources to Ramadûn and views Bergatt as a purely utilitarian place, the quality of life has become brittle over the years. Many citizens seek refuge in secret, often illegal organizations and street gangs. These gangs are often led by minorities consisting of other races. Mithril eye is pretending to fight against them but in secret, they receive payments to turn a blind eye, ironic considering the name of the guard network.

Industry & Trade
Most of the trade is generated by trading with outsiders and crafting.
Infrastructure
Shadowmire Shipyard
On the shores of Shadowmire stands a big workshop dedicated to the craftsmanship of water vehicles used to traverse the river itself. A good place to make some coin
Zhurkwood lumber mill
As the name implies, this is THE place for storage and preparation of zhurkwood. Refined materials are transported to the rest of Ramadûn and Bergatt. As an important part of the infrastructure, the lumber mill employs many of the Bergatt's citizens.
Beast pens
Found on the outskirts of Bergatt. An area dedicated to cultivating Rothés and other helpful beasts. The scouting parties get their beasts from here
Rail System
Connecting Bergatt to Ramadun, this network of rails and carts facilitates the efficient transport of goods, particularly Zhurkwood and forge materials. This system demonstrates the Duergar's advanced understanding of logistics and engineering. Some rail branches span across miles of travel to deeper parts of the Underdark for rare materials.
Anvil of the people
This forge stands proudly open to any crafter or blacksmith who may use it to create trade goods or help others in need. There are even dwarves dedicated to teaching others how to be a blacksmith. The most talented of those are picked up by the trade guilds or gangs.
School of Grigorius
This place of knowledge and religion serves as an attempt by leadership of Ramadûn to help and cultivate citizens of Bergatt. Those curious enough to learn may come here and for a small fee, that is required for the upkeep of the school, may get a basic education and a bit of help to start in their life. Alternatively, this place servers as a holy ground for the worship of Duergar gods. Many scout members come here before their ventures to get their blessings

Districts
Bergatt is built along the Shadowmire River and is separated into three main sectors
- The living sector - consists of housing for citizens and small shops to satisfy their needs
- The work sector - Occupying most of the shore area, consisting of the shipyard, lumbermill, and other craftmanship facilities
- The army sector - Built for the military, with The Cube as its dominant, serves the protectors of Bergat and Ramadûn.
Guilds and Factions
Sailors
Crafters/Traders
Gangs - Created by those who want to exploit weaknesses in security and profit from the lives of others. Many gangs have their own laws. They can even serve as a substitute for government. Often consisting of people who are rejected by Ramadûn or trader guilds. The need to survive is far greater than to abide by the law. Murder and theft are daily bread for gang members. With time, the Mithril eye and its influence diminished in Bergatt while the gangs and street law rose. Another tool that the gangs utilize is good old corruption. They pay up hefty sums so the Mithril eye keeps their "eye" away from them. In a twisted way, they created a new order in this unlawful place.
