Hillarian

The Hillarian was the name of the ancient human's who live in Rularia before the founding of the five kingdoms. The Hillarian ethnicity was spilt into two sub-ethnicities (Like English people being a Manc or Brumie or Northerner, so on) these two groups were the Aesir/Asynjur and the Vanir.   Whilst the Hillarian people have faded from existance, once the five kingdoms were established and the Human lands became Dragontide, their legacy and culture is still engrained in various aspects of Dragontidite and Venkan-Ori culture.

Art & Architecture

Hillarian art is filled with beautiful intricate knots, with designs based on their important animals.

Funerary and Memorial customs

When a Hillarian died their body was burned on a funeral pyre, along with their worldly possessions. Depending on where the deceased lived, depended on the type of pyre built. For coastal Hillarian the pyre would be built on a ship, and pushed out to sea as it is set a light. For farmers and more landlocked Hillarian their pyre was built up in a field, typically a crop field, where their ashes would be absorbed into the earth, generating new life and crop growth.

Common Taboos

A major Hillarian taboo is insults to another's ancestors. Arguments between people are usually treated as rhyming discorse, with insults being thrown only about the other person, to bring the other person's parent's or grandparent's is considered a grave insult, that holds no place in regular arguments.

Common Myths and Legends

Most of the Hillarian myth's and legends have trickled down into Venkan-Ori culture espically, most noteably of how the Ascended God's earned their ascension.
