Blood Hunter Guild of Oxdara

The Blood Hunter Guild of Oxdara came about in the years following the Draconic Resurgence, where it is believed the increase in Draconic Magic unbalanced the Life Force of Oxdara, creating surges in Wild Magic, and more monsters to be born from it. Though the Life Force has now balanced itself again, the increased Wild Magic has not been removed or destroyed, if that were even possible, with more and more monsters being born from it. Because of this Wild Magic surge small groups began to form, and monster hunting became a wider spread profession, a specialisation of adventurers. During this time the practice of Blood Magic, or Hemomancy, rose in popularity, and whilst the name is a misnomer, its practise became extraordinarily effective in killing monsters. Over time the practice was refined by these new Blood Hunters, and various Orders were established, each teaching different abilities and uses for Hemomancy.   Every Blood Hunter wears a medalion, representative of thier Order. Order of the Moon hunters, wear a half moon medalion with the other half being a depiction of their curse, Wolf, Rat, Tiger so on. Order the Altered, wear a medalion of a potion vial, Order of the Dead wear a thin ring with nothing inside. And Order of the Vampiric wear a medalion with a silver stake.

Structure

The Blood Hunter Guild of Oxdara are separated and broken down into their different Orders, with each order utilising different forms of Hemomancy. Though each Order manipulates their Life Force in different ways, they all utilise the manipulation in the hunting and killing of monsters, creatures born of wild magic, existing to destroy and kill those connected to the Life Force.

Order of the Moon (Order of the Lycan)

Blood Hunters in service to the Order of the Moon have manipulated their Life Force, inflicting various different curses of Lycanthropy upon themselves. Though a curse that can and has driven creatures mad, becoming violent monsters, those who follow the Order of the Moon channel their Life Force into controlling the curse. Those who serve in this order undergo a ritual when they are first inducted into the order, afflicting themselves with the curse of Lycanthropy.   The Order of the Moon exist as a unique Order, with various sub-orders or sects, each bound to a different curse.
  • Sect of the Wolf
  • Sect of the Rat
  • Sect of the Bear
  • Sect of the Boar
  • Sect of the Tiger

Order of the Dead (Order of the Ghostslayer)

Hunters in service to the Order of the Dead act to eradicate monsters born of Necromancy, born of Undeath, they are the only Order who seek to destroy monsters not born of Wild Magic. Many of these hunters have come to see Necromancy as a black and white cause, creatures and practitioners of Necromancy are to be put to death and correct the perversion of Life Force they created. The other Orders look down upon the Order of the Dead, seeing them as hypocrites, killing those who manipulate the Life Force, like the Blood Hunters do themselves. As such the Order of the Dead operate in the shadows of the world, not identifying themselves with various markings or symbols like the other Orders are known too; they even disguise their practicing of Blood Magic, from and outsiders view you would not know someone was in service to this Order, until it was too late.

Order of the Altered (Order of the Mutant)

The Order of the Mutant stem from the Biomancers of Erendoc, whilst those who created the mutated Hybrid creatures in Ironbury have long been dead, along with their creations, the practise of Biomancy has continued. The Order of the Altered uses these techniques to create potions and elixirs to manipulate their connection to the Life Force even further, though whilst not permanent affects, the elixirs and potions create Blood Hunters more powerful than that of the other Orders.

Order of the Vampiric

Hunters in service to the Order of the Vampiric aren't actually vampires, instead hunter's dedicated to the hunt of the creature. Hunters use their own blood as bait for the Vampires they hunt, consuming various poisons and toxins, infecting their blood with them. The Hunters manipulate their Life Force to resist the effect of the poisons they consume, however their resistance isn't immunity, so they only consume the toxins before a hunt, weakening themselves, but also the unknowing Vampires who consume their blood.   The Hunters of this Order also manipulate their Life Force to purge any Vampiric infection they may encounter during their hunts. And whilst they serve no church or faith, they turn their own blood into Holy Water, having such control over their Life Force they can manipulate it, even when consumed by the creature; burning them from the inside. These Hunters can also manipulate their Life Force, granting them momentary abilities to create Sun-Light from their wounds, many who serve in this Order are Aasimar, their connection and divine blood strengthening their abilities against the Vampires.
