Lady of Bones

The Lady of Bones is the traditional title of the witch or sorceress who takes up residence in a swamp or forest or graveyard. If there are others in the area, this title goes to the seniormost member of the coterie. Meant to be a kind of Baba Yaga figure, she is given authority and extra privileges within those circles that women of magic follow.
Traditionally, the Lady is of Evil alignment, although there are a few exceptions. (Glenna Stormraven of the Forest of Pain being one of them.)
With the rest of the population, they are granted appropriate amounts of fear and respect. Some places even leave seats on local government councils.
