Adderwanton

They didn't mean to put "wanton" right in the title, but it's there now, and they like the notoriety. They also say that the "adder" wasn't intentional, but that one pretty obviously was.

Adderwanton is a charming little town found at the edge of the north ocean in Sornevo. It ought to be a good setting off place to go to Deorma, but they put it on top of a cliff with no good harbor at the bottom, and winds too heavy to allow for airship or airplane or really anything that flies.
The name was a combination of the names of the three founders, plus -ton to indicate that they were a quaint little town and thus quite respectable. It wasn't until they'd been settled for a generation that someone pointed out the more risque elements of their name to them.
Rolanda Adrian, Lodur Derenbourg, and Sherwyn Weymouth-Want were all attempting to get away from society when they happened upon the location that became Adderwanton. They took the first few letters of each of their surnames and mushed them together, and then went back and got their families to also get them away from society. Which had the side effect of bringing society with them, but no life is perfect.
They have gotten a little edgy in terms of how the town is designed, thanks to the name, but they actually probably have fewer brothels than any other town. Just a lot of shop names with innuendo, tight pants, and skirts that show an impractical amount of leg. It's a good place to lay low for a bit, or to pick up some gossip and find out the latest hero who wants assistance.
