The Suit And The Revenge

"The thing you must know, is that I am not a good man. Now Charlie, he was good. If he needed to kill, he'd do it. No waiting, no hesitation, he'd instantly pull the trigger and never look back. Now me, I'm a gloater. When I kill someone, I want them to know why. Which is why you're still alive. See, I really liked Charlie. And you had him executed in cold blood."   The corporate suit whimpered, surrounded by corpses of his own security. "I had no choice! He had just destroyed years of research! It was nothing personal, we needed someone to blame and he knew too much!" His eyes flitted about, looking for anything to use, a weapon, a way out, anything.   "Ah yes, your precious experiments. Didn't matter how many you killed for that either. You deserve far worse than death for that. Do you remember that some folks took literal months to die? And all you did was write it down, their deaths just a datapoint. Yeah, Charlie would have just killed you if he'd been given the chance. I will not be so kind."   As the suit shuddered, a car's noise began to overpower the sound of the fires around them. As the man turned towards the source of the sound, he cursed and dove for cover, mere seconds before gunfire tore through the place he had been standing in. Two DocWagon ambulances drove up at high speed, one providing cover fire as the other placed itself in front of the suit.   "Quick, sir!" They pulled him in, then the cars drove off again, leaving the shadowrunner behind as he screamed in rage. Inside the ambulance, the medics began with a checkup. "The jammer blocked your biomonitor, a good thing you barely moved since then. Sit down and relax, sir, this will help prevent shock."   The suit sighed, feeling the tension flow off him. But there was a nagging feeling in his mind. Something wasn't right here. Didn't he sign with CrashCart last year? Then how did DocWagon detect his biomonitor? As he looked at the men and wanted to talk, he lost control over his voice, only capable of producing babbling sounds.   It only took him a few seconds to recognise it as one of the first symptoms of his past experiment. The men looked at him, malice in their eyes, as they put him in restraints. Filled with fear, all he could do was look at them as he could feel his body slip away from him.
