Scope
The motivation behind building Ostyria
Ostyria is the first world I ever crafted in my mind and I want to continue to flush it out. It is very important to me that this world allows me to express my passion for fantasy and storytelling.
The goal of the project
I hope to be able to tell many stories in this world whether the story telling medium is roleplay, short stories, or novel. I want my audience to read the lore of the world and want to explore it for themselves and tell new stories in its setting.
Ostyria's Unique Selling point
What makes Ostyria unique is that it has four distinct continents that each bring a different vibe and interpretation of the fantasy genre. It also is a world representative of many different human experiences and interrogates many common fantasy tropes. It also questions the roles of religion, politics, wealth, and power structures that come from those avenues.

Ostyria is a world of high and dark fantasy.
Reader Experience
Ostyria should feel mystical and mysterious, full of wonders and plenty of hidden secrets. The audience should feel intrigued and want to explore more and ask questions that led them to find more answers.
Reader Tone
Depending on where in Ostyria one is the tone can change. Some regions are much darker than others and some areas are whimsical but most of Ostyria is a mix with a bit more of a dark and mysterious bend.
Recurring Themes
1. Planar rifts have transformed the world and have never completely gone away. 2. The gods have played favorites and the rest of the world deals with the consequences. 3. Things are not always as they seem, alternative motives always lurk in the background whether good or bad.
Character Agency
Characters have their own stories to tell in the world. They have the power to change Ostyria forever but the world is not so reticent to change.
