Crystal Engine
Powerhouse of Technology
The Crystal Engine is the central aspect of almost all Crystal Technology. Without it, Crystech wouldn't run, nor would it be Crystech at all. And yet, for something so important, the Crystal Engine takes up barely any space in the piece of technology it is a part of.
From the largest sea-faring vessel to the smallest airship, the Crystal Engine works to ensure that transportation continues to function across Ostrium. And the more stationary technologies, such as the Water Loom and Spinning Jenny, are run by even smaller Crystal Engines than most would consider possible, fueled so to speak by shards of Crystals instead of chunks like the larger Engines.
The biggest threat to a Crystal Engine is overheating. Too much heat runs the risk of the Crystal cracking and needing to be replaced, at the best of circumstances. Most of the time, when a Crystal cracks due to overheating, an explosion is swift to follow.
Crossing Nations, Crossing Skies
Without the Crystal Engine, vehicles like Airships would be out of the reach of Ostrium. Instead, travel between distant parts of the Kingdom can be done in weeks, whereas before it would take months of hard travel on the road or sea to get to where you wanted or needed to go. And reaching the floating islands would require a flying mount, or a Sorcerer trained specifically in weather manipulation.
Now, the sky is the limit for how far the Crystal Engine can take the Kingdom.

Word of Warning
The Crystal Engine is a highly complex piece of machinery. Please do not attempt to build, fix, or operate on without extensive knowledge of its internal makeup.
