Forgotten Gaol (For-got-ten Jail)

The last stop for those who have failed rehabilitation in The Tryst, the Forogtten Gaol was named so some time after its creation but the name has stuck as far more accurate than whatever it was originally called. Those deemed unable, or more accurately unwilling to reform their crimes (particularly the most dangerous crimes) are sent here to Lost Hope island where the arctic water, windy ice floes, and distance from the mainland do as much to deter escape attempts as the skeleton crew of security staff.   For the average criminal, getting sent to the Forgotten Gaol is worse than a death sentence, and many seek to go out in a blaze of glory, suicide by security patrol, rather than get dragged there. Depending upon who you ask, it seems that many of the authorities that help contribute resources to the joint effort to keep the Gaol afloat agree with this sentiment and it isn't uncommon to hear of transfers getting "lost" (read: murdered) before they reach the Gaol. No one wants to make the trip out there, no one wants to deliver supplies or maintain troops there, no one wants to remember it's there at all. The Forgotten Gaol is a symbol of failure in Ostelliach, and nobody wants to fail that badly.
