Engel Siegeweard

(a.k.a. Human Chimera)

Engel Siegeward, or the Human Chimera as he is sometimes referred, is the general of Riza Sinclair's army and the head of her Royal Guard. He is a cunning, intelligent, and calculating man. He has been raised since childhood to be the head of the royal guard, just as his father, grandfather, and great grandfather were before him. He is beyond a master swordsman and an extremely powerful Magi. He has the most Od of anyone from his family thus far and by far the best mastery of his family's Manus. Lady Sinclair has confirmed this herself from first-hand experience as each of them served as her head royal guard of the past 200 years.
Engel's manus is known as Beast-Mimicry Manus a type of Alteration Manus. 
Engel has mastered his manus in four ways which he felt was the most efficient for his needs.
First, he can sprout a pair of great angel like wings, white as snow, and at the same time manipulates his bones to mimic a birds' hollow bones while somewhat increasing their density to offset the fragility. These two transformations allow him unhindered flight. Flying is mostly used for travel convenience, intimidation, and occasionally in combat. He is very fond of his wings and often wears them around the palace to show off and increase his regal, divine appearance.
Second, he can manifest a set of 8 large eyeless snakes from his left shoulder. Each of the snakes is roughly 15 feet long and 4 inches wide in thickness. They are very strong for their size, being composed of entirely of skin, muscle, tendon, and bone since there is no need for organs within them. Each snake bears a pair of inch and half long fangs with small serrated teeth behind them lining their gums. Using the snakes he can catch his opponents by surprise, launching the snakes out from inside his coat sleeve, far faster than most people could react to. The snakes allow him to easily grapple and then subdue or kill his opponents by strangulation or simply throwing them. The snakes are also optimal for armored opponents as he can aim them to strike between the gaps in armor at the much softer flesh or simply bite between the chainmail rings with the snakes' fangs.
Third, he augmented his eyes to that of partially of a cats and a hawks. Normally his eyes are like a cats, allowing him to see in nearly complete darkness with ease but when he concentrates od into his eyes it allows him to see at the same level of detail as a hawk would.
His fourth and final mimic, 4 small pits on his head that connect to a special sensory organ in his head, the pits and special organ give him the ability to sense any heat signatures within a 20 foot circle around him. Two of the four small pits are just above his brow on his forehead and the other two are on the back his upper neck, lining up with the bottom of his ears. The pits allow him to have infrared "vision" He can sense thermal heat signatures in a complete circle around him and up to 20 feet away.

Apparel & Accessories

A chest plate, fully armored right arm and shoulder. Fully plated greaves and boots. Left arm only bears a gauntlet for armor with the shoulder and bicep exposed. The armor covering his back is actually 3 pieces of brigandine with small gaps in them for his wings to extend through. He wears a long coat over his armor disguising that his left shoulder and upper arm isn't actually armored.

Personal history

Engel Siegeward comes from a long family history linked to the royal Sinclair family. Engel's family has always served as the heads of the royal guard and military. Engel grew up knowing this would be his sole duty and calling in life. And he aimed to be the best. At a young age he grew an appreciation for birds and the freedom their wings gave them. At the age of 8 when his manus began to manifest he transformed for the first time, much to his family's amazement. Engel manifested a single large eagle like wing from his body, like that of the snow white cloud eagles that nested near them. A transformation at such a young age was rather unheard of and the Engel was quickly hailed as a prodigy.
From that day on his training was greatly intensified. He would practice sword fighting every day in the morning till midday and than work on his mimicry/transformation manus in the afternoon until night where he would sleep and do it all again the next day. Eventually at the age of 12, he understood the inner workings of a birds anatomy well enough that he could manipulate his own bones so that the wings he manifested would be able to support his weight and grant him flight. Soon after he noticed an increase in his bones fragility from the transformation. He tested and refined different ways of hollowing his bones until he found a way increase the strength of the bones and maintain a light weight. The wings had to be larger though, now as big as his entire body.
The next mimicry Engel focused on was that of a cats and hawks eyes, he desired to be able to see in the dark and at farther ranges, these two abilities would greatly help him in flight and when performing reconnaissance missions. He studied and focused on this intentionally putting off choosing his combat mimicry as he still wasn't sure what he wanted. The eye mimicry was much simpler than creating entirely new limbs and by the age of 16 he had them mostly perfected, starting with the cats eyes first and then mimicking a hawks from there.
As he became older his skill with the sword greatly increased and he began to finally really think on what mimicry he should master to aid him in combat. His father and grandfather before him had focused on a type of bear and and massive tusked boar native to the land. However Engel wanted a mimicry of something more sleek and elegant to match his preferred style and regal attitude. Something that would allow him to get around the plate armor that was becoming very common rather than simply punching through it. Engel had his revelation when at the age of 17 he was out training with his father and accidentally stepped on a snake hiding near a bush. The small viper retaliated and easily slid its attack through a small gap in his greaves, piercing his flesh with its long fangs. As Engel fell to the floor in pain he had his epiphany, this is the mimicry he had been wanting. He quickly grabbed the snake by the head and removed his glove so his manus could recognize the creature's anatomy. He then rushed home to begin practicing the mimicry. For the first few years he could only manifest one snake. Regardless he became quite adept at using this in combat. Launching it from his left shoulder and catching his opponents off guard just as the snake had done to him all those years ago. He used the snake to grapple opponents' limbs and allow him an easy victory in combat.
He realized he was not even close to the manifesting limit of his manus. The limit was around 2-4 times the body weight of the magi and so far Engel only had his wings and one snake. So as he got older he refined his mimicry focusing on snake manifesting as it was the most useful in combat. Over the years through training he was soon able to manifest 2 snakes and then 3 from his left shoulder. This was a huge advantage, allowing him to attack more than one of his opponents limbs at the same time. As Engel continued to hone his skill he was able to manifest more and more snakes. By the age of 25 he reached his maximum he could manifest, 6 large snakes nearly 15 feet in length each. Using them together he could easily lift, throw, or crush a grown man. 
Engel at this point was beyond a master swordsman and the head of Lady Sinclair's royal guards. But he was not finished in perfecting his mimicry manus. Something everyone had felt was already mastered. Most magi with beast-mimicry manus could only truly master 3 mimics, 2 manifesting and 1 augmenting, anything more than that was simply unheard of at the time but Engel disagreed. He spent the next 7 years of his life studying a species of viper he had found that could somehow sense the heat given off by animals around it. Engel knew this would become his final ace in the hole. An ability that would allow him to "sense" any enemy approaching him even if he were blind and deaf. Engel eventually through much trial and error and extreme pain from when he messed up was able to mimic this ability. It was an augmentation not a manifestation meaning it was a permanent change to his body once fully integrated. But his magnum opus was done. Engel told no one other than Lady Sinclair herself of his new power.
