Creation Myth

Summary

When creation rose itself from the void, Jessia, the Mother, and @Ambrosia, the Soul, found themselves in a nebulous void of chaos. There was no life. There was no order. There was no love. There were only the Clouds of Creation.   From these clouds, Jessia and her twin created order. On Ambrosia's own body, they created life. From her teat sprang the waters of life and from her curled body formed the world. Jessia swore to her sister that she would bring love to their creations and ensure that good would always be present in their lives as she conjured forth a great serpent to wrap around Ambrosia's body and keep her waters inside its coils.   As Jessia seeded the world with life, pulling up or pushing down Ambrosia's limbs to create the continents of the world upon which they will live, she became extremely lonely. Taking the stars from the Clouds around her, she began to seed them into the souls of worthy individuals to become gods as well and help Jessia rule her creations.

Variations & Mutation

The telling of the Dusk Elf clans typically do not acknowledge Jessia as playing a part and relegate her to Ambrosia's daughter instead of twin. They claim she came after Ambrosia surrounded herself with the serpent and split off a piece of herself to rule her creation.   Contrarily, Jantocar claims Jessia wove creation from the clouds unassisted and that their world is a crystallized drop of her blood in an endless sea inside the serpent's coils. This telling largely dropped off when Jantocar made contact with the Rysalt Dominion, but even modern telling omits the existence of Ambrosia.

In Art

The castle of the Eternal Emperor of the Rysalt Dominion has a tapestry depicting the body of Ambrosia with a midnight blue-scaled serpent wrapped around her and the waters of the world dripping around its body.
