Altar was a messenger and a scout in an age where wars were red hot but fought out of uniform. Never killed a man in his life nor brought harm to another, but mutilated all the same by the enemies of his nation. His body was discovered by his commanding officer days after his death, with his face removed and his body flayed.
But still Altar reported to his station. Or, at least, did the man with his face.
