Session 6 - 25th of Thellonde Midday 948 ACW late in the day
General Summary
After getting a few bits of information from Holme the group watched the government officials walk out and interrogated Holme themselves. They learned that Kendra was working for someone else but he didn't know who, just that they wanted to bring magic into a new era. Holme told them that if he had been successful in getting the spear he would have given the real spear to Thialascion and the fake to Kendra and her employer.
They left the building deciding to look into Kendra after they finished the jobs Azel gave them that morning. The next day the group headed out on the road with the Kobolds and horse and cart in tow. On the road, they made it to the Serpents Head in fairly late at night and were able to secure lodging for the evening. They headed back out on the road and were able to shoo away an owlbear and her cubs.
After being on the road for around four days total they were able to find Elbin and his drake companions. He told them the legends surrounding the node and leylines of the forest and with Rowan using the Arcane Map cantrip, the group found the nearest minor leyline and headed north. While traveling together the group witnessed the moon suddenly appear and seem to have strange things happen to it, as this happened Rowan witnessed her shadow move on its own for just a moment.
The next day they found the node and while looking around they saw a young tiefling boy in a grey cloak spying on them. After some back and forth they escorted the young man back to Brimrock, where they then dropped off the Kobolds and told them to follow the man. When they got back to the node they found that Elbin and his drakes had been killed and a trail of blood led from the bodies to the node and seemed to disappear into it.
Rahmiel decided to just into the node to see what happened, and after a few minutes of talking the rest followed after him. They found themselves in a broken-down temple space that seemed to have been built by an ancient elven tribe. When they left the temple they found that they were in an unknown field with the broken remains of the temple around them. Opposite them were a broken temple platform and two grey cloaks doing something to it. The group approached and talked to the two people with Rahmiel revealing himself to be a grey cloak. The woman in the pair told them that Elbin was a liability and had to be killed, between that and her wrapped wound the group quickly took her out and then tied up her partner for questioning.
