Morgion

The Rat King

Morgion is the god of decay in all its forms, including such things as plague and pestilence, rust, and madness. He wishes to see all things wither away into decadence, and for mortals to suffer as much as possible prior to going on to the next stage of their soul's journey. He along with his son Duncan  resides within the Bronze Tower on the edges of the Abyss where they carry out their plots. Often portrayed as an executioner wearing a black hood and veil, a warrior in a torn cloak with rusted heavy armor and notched sword, or a thick roiling black cloud with two glowing eyes.

Tenets of Faith

The Rat King is the god of diseases of the mind and body alike, and to a greater extent personifies the inexorable decay of all things, from individuals to relationships, and even communities and nations. He triumphs through the dissolution, corrosion, and suffering that people are subject to, for in this way he achieves his goals. A quick death, an easy retirement, or a healthy and wholesome life is anathema to Morgion. Fear, recognition of pain and woe, and the eventual appeal of the diseased to Morgion's non-existent mercy drive the world forward, spreading his unholy message: only the strong will survive, for to survive is to suffer and to suffer is to know the truth.
Morgion's priesthood is composed of slaves. He waits until disease grabs hold of a person, and then offers them a deal: respite from the disease in exchange for life-long servitude. Those who accept are "cured" through the power of Morgion, though the price they are forced to pay is often more than they can bear, as they are sent out into the world to infect others with disease so that Morgion can recruit more followers.
Cultists of the Rat King gather in cells with no more than three members, who are tasked with spreading disease and suffering everywhere they go. Usually sporting cloaks of brown and black. Cultist work in secret lest they be destroyed, and can be found anywhere, from large cities to small villages.
