Hybrid

Any half- or mixed-species is considered a hybrid.
While there are purists within most species, there are plenty of documented cases of interspecies relationships resulting in mixed offspring. This is most notable among the hominids, leading to half-elves, half-giants, and half-humans. Many hybrid offspring are incapable of reproducing, but those who can, do.
