Origin

Esprit du Nacional's origins were in the 22nd century. They were first founded as a minor shipping corporation on the frontier world of New Silesia. It didn't begin major expansion until the 23rd century during the days of the "successor states".   Esprit du Nacional grew as a major corporate entity during the days of the ISA. It was very popular on the frontier and was able to survive the reunification of the 2270's  

Structure

Esprit du Nacional is organized in the standard corporate structure. A CEO is appointed by the board of directors. The board of directors are accountable to the share holders. Espirit du Nacional has a very relaxed policy about selling shares.   Below the board of directors, the management structure tends to be quite informal and localized. Espirit du Nacional owns about a dozen minor corporations.

Products

Esprit du Nacional has a very broad range of products, ranging from shipping, hydrogen fuel, medicine and pharmacetuals and banking. They are involved in nearly every field on a low level.   Espirit du Nacional owns College Green; a media corporation who are their major media arm.  

Rivals

Esprit du Nacional used to have a fairly harmonious relationship with the other major corporations. However after reunification, they began to develop a rivalry with both VENTRISS UDC and West-Corp.   Espiti du Nacional attempt to create harmonious and productive relationships with smaller, frontier corporations. However they have been known to use shady, underhand tactics to undercut and put rivals out of business.  

Sister Corporation

In 2445 EDN established Chevalier Extant, a sister corporation handling the corporations battle-mech business. Former Lord-Chancellor Aldrich Collingwood was named as the companies first CEO  

Acquisition by House Grumman

  In 2570, after being hit by a series of setbacks, EDN found themselves in a precarious position. In need of new capital, the corporation opened itself up to a bidding war between several major corporate players. House Grumman emerged victorious, thanks to a generous loan by ARBI and a couple of other smaller contributions by other great Houses.
