Orlon History

The ship shook with a violent jolt, knocking Matsuko to the floor.   Wind whistled through an unseen pressure differential, indicating a breech. He could survive just fine without any atmosphere, but his guests would be another aspect.   Quickly however, the breach caused a purple vapour to flow into the room.   “Crap, crap, what the hell is that?” The ship’s scanners could not trace the origin of the material, nor the effects. Functionally, he had no need for his lungs anymore, but they still existed.   Despite repeated attempts to vent the gas, it would not clear, and finally made its way into the control room. He did not panic, of course, due to the fact that, thankfully, there was a planet below him.   He breathed in the gas, which had an immediate effect. His vision started to blur, and his body felt extremely heavy. It was quite surprising due to all of the gravity training he did, which set of massive warning signs for him.   Atmospheric entry did not go smoothly. The ship had suffered more damage than he, and thus, he was only able to set a crash landing point by adjusting the thruster vectors, and hoping for the best.   Around fifteen minutes into his descent---he couldn’t be sure, nor could he remember---into the entry, the thrusters malfunctioned. Now that he was closer he did one final scan, as the rest of the ship still had functionality. There was no way for him to assess the damage of the impact, but there was also nothing he could do about it. With the crash site set up, there was only one thing left for him to do.     Matsuko chuckled maniacally as the ship fell down to the planet below. "No sign---" He stopped himself with a sigh. He was alone. There we no signs of advanced life on the planet, but there were plenty of biological signatures that indicated a world teeming with flora and fauna.

Matsuko reveals his true self to his commander Linwenido, who he knows will die of old age after being in the war that they attempted to stop. Several campaigns made up a greater conquest war. With all of his formal requests denied, and a call for peace ignored, he forged an army comprising of members of the entire capable populace, with only a small garrison of 1500 loyalists being the only remaining forces the Tyrant King had. Because it was his last resort and all other options were exhausted, he set forth to commit such an act of destruction, that the scale would not be rivaled for a thousand years.

The first wingless aircraft take flight, and at a speed that is none to unimpressive, one hundred and twenty-one knals per hour compared to the 10-15 knals per hour of the MC's.

Radio communications begin to arrive. A new type of showcase of wealth began to appear. If one had their own radio tower added to their dwelling, it was a sign of high success. Air traffic control is set up on a rudimentary level before it is even available to non military citizens.

Due to the faster transport speed of airships, gigantic blocks of ice are deposited to people of a new profession. Ice block carvers. They have what can be described as a hybrid skillset. The delicacy of a glass carver, with the scale of a mason.

A method for capturing and reproducing sound is devised, and immediately put to work narrating moving paintings.

Through means of a film chemically reacting to exposure to light, "instant paintings" are continually created, to be able to be magnified and displayed in theatres. They are very clunky and immobile. The film is removable for transfer to theatre.

After many decades of experimentation and failure, with the agreement of Matsuko, the main "flight team" designs a craft based on Tiyama, as well as proposing potential varitions. The first flight brings all of Orlon closer to the stars.
