Satyr
The cousin of Faun, Satyrs are Senitant beings that resemble goats with human-like posture on a pair of hooved digitigrade legs. They live in forests, neighboring Fauns and Dryads.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Satyrs are the body of humans, save for a few key differences. Satyrs are cover from head to hoof in fur, they also have eyes like goats; goat-like horns adorn the top of their head, hooves at the end of their digitigrade legs, a small tail poking out from their lower back, and their face looking more akin to a goat than a human.
Growth Rate & Stages
Satyrs age at the same rate as humans, reaching adulthood at around 16 to 18, but tend to live much, much longer lives.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Satyrs are primarily vegetarians, but it's not uncommon to see them eat meat either. Fruits are often given as gifts to show appreciation or to give thanks. Satyrs are often very good at growing their own foods and primarily live off of that; when access to grown foods is scarece, Satyrs take up hunting without issue - they are usually rather good at it too.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Satyrs are divided by clans; each clan has an elder shaman as a guide and more, the leader who has final say over clan decisions, and the "hunters" which is everyone else. If the Satyr is neither Elder nor Leader, they are equal with everyone else in the clan.
Facial characteristics
Satyrs generally have a stern-looking facial expression; though, while stern, they are also often described as having "soft faces". Unlike most bestial races, who's faces usually match their related animal almost exactly, Satyr's faces are described as "goat-like", but have sort of a unique shape to them that don't quite mimic a real goat.
Average Intelligence
Satyrs are very intelligent beings, but not any more so than most other Senitant races.
Civilization and Culture
Courtship Ideals
Satyrs court one another by offering gifts beyond the usual offers of friendship, gems instead of fruits, or an engraved bow instead of a few apples; gifts with more meaning. If the gifts are accepted, the two Satyrs begin acting towards each other what human races would call dating.
Relationship Ideals
Satyr relationships are not for life; instead, they are with each other for five years at a time. Should a Satyr still feel connected with their current partner by the end of the cycle, they may court the partner again, and begin the cycle anew with the same companion - assuming the companion accepts it.
Average Technological Level
Satyrs are a simple folk, they have a heavy reliance on magic for many things like medicine, so thier technological advancements are minimal. With that said, their level of understanding of Alchemy is outstanding, and their craft of musical instruments is rivled by few.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
The Satyr language, Satyric, is rarely spoken outisde of their own individual clan. When conversing with other clans, Dryads, or Fauns, all of which they frequently associate with, they will usually speak in Sylvan.
Common Dress Code
Among their own clans, Faun clans, or Dryad villages, Satyrs rarely wear anything at all. When in more public settings, they will don armor (often made of leather) or common clothes but made from very fine materials. Satyrs prefer to wear nothing, but if social expectation calls for clothes, they prefer to wear only the finest they can.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Satyrs have no qualms with relationships with different races, as long as it is determined before hand which custom the relationship will follow - Satyr custom of lasting five years, or whatever the other race's custom is.
Lifespan
280 years at most
Average Height
5'10 ft. on average
Average Weight

Average Physique

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Black, white, grey, and brown are, by far, the most-common colors for Satyr fur, but others do exist; Satyrs are one of the only races where exotic colors like blue or purple can actually occure naturally. Their eyes range from all over the spectrum of colors.
