Session 2: Finding Errog Report

General Summary

The party meets Torrieg Waraxe after the Feast of Clans, who tasks them to find Errog Warhelm, one of his warriors whomst was dispatched beyond the Deep Gate with a warband and has yet to return. Furthermore, Torrieg assigns the Tabaxi scout Ghost in the Dark as the party's escort through the caverns.
After stocking up on supplies, the party ventured beyond the Deep Gate into the maze of tunnels beyond. The party discovered multiple bodies of the missing dwarf band, all similarly mutilated, their armor peeled open like tin cans with their chest cavaties ripped open.
The party follows the trail to an ancient Dwarf tomb, filled with bodies. After Vanya Quiphne recovered the written words of Errog Warhelm warning of an impending danger, the party is attacked by a Deep One that possess one of the Dwarven corpses. After Lord Schmer seemingly slew the creature with a chill touch cantrip, another corpse rose from the dead, this time being dispatched by Alak Duragga.
As the party departed the tomb, they began to hear the pounding of drums in the deep, reverberating through the tunnels. Ghost slipped away into the tunnels ahead of the party, making her way back towards the Deep Gate to warn the Dwarves.
