Bjergvagt is led by an elected town council called The Raven Council. The council is composed of eight members who are voted into power every five years. The council is advised by prominent family elders and Völvas in matters of governance.

Bjergvagnt thrives by Nordur standards, being the wealthiest settlement in the region, due to its strategic position along the Hugmynd River and proximity to the Khelreach Range. In times past, the town would see heavy trade with the dwarves of the mountains, but communication with the old Khels was cut one by one, with the odd caravan from Khel Doran being their only remaining economic tie.
