Gender

Issues of gender are largely unexamined and social acceptance of non-traditional presentation is highly uneven. Any adventurer who can walk the walk is respected, regardless of their gender presentation. Among others, gender presentation and gender roles are fiercely policed. Sometimes this drives people into adventuring as a career just to escape those constraints. Trans* folk seeking to have their physical sex match their true gender have limited options. Theoretically, bespoke spells could change physical appearance to order, but little research has been done as such spells are not directly related to fighting monsters. There are species that are exclusively male, female, androgynous, neuter or have more complicated approaches to gender. Adopting such a species is seldom an adequate solution because it comes bundled with constraints on Skills, Perks and appearance that are not always welcome.
