Guardians of the Keeper

During the Ordo Templaris second Crusade one of the Keepers requested several soldiers to be put under her personal command as guards of the Keeper and the various libraries around the galaxy. These soldiers became the first Guardians of the Keeper and remnants of their group still remain today. Although they were under the Keepers direct command, they were still under the Ordo Templaris and could be commanded by anyone of the Council of Seven. They were easily recognized by their armor which was not adorned with the symbol of the Ordo but that of the Keeper. Another less obvious identifying feature they had was a small tattoo on the side of their neck. The tattoo was circular, half of the Keeper's symbol and the other half a lion-like creature. It is unclear when that tradition started but it was viewed as a sign of brotherhood, every soldier serving under the Keeper would get the mark.   Typically the men and women serving as guardians to the Keeper would be slightly fanatical regarding the preservation of history. This included the Ordos libraries, the safety of students and educational facilities. They were still considered very much a part of the Ordo by others, but did not serve on the frontlines and often became slightly distanced from the greater order.
