Andoris

The World of Nature

"Life, in all its splendor and ferocity, finds refuge in Andoris. Here, every tree whispers an ancient story, every stream carries the wisdom of Sylvana, and every gust of wind is a reminder that harmony is not imposed : it is earned."
— Elvish Proverb
Rising from the ashes of The Ancient World, Andoris is a lush and verdant world, both a refuge and an arena for the forces of nature. Sylvana, the goddess of life and balance, stands as its benevolent yet unyielding guardian. This world is renowned for its untamed beauty, unparalleled harmony, and unfathomable mysteries.

Geography and Environment

Every breeze in Andoris seems to carry a melody, every stream sparkles like a vein of living magic, and every creature plays a specific role in the ecosystem. Andoris is a vast and varied world, divided into several unique biomes, each with its own ecosystem and wonders.

The Primeval Forest

At the heart of Andoris lies the Primeval Forest, a dense woodland where sunlight struggles to penetrate the canopy. These woods are home to ancient sentient trees known as the Guardians of the Roots, who communicate through a magical underground network.

The Singing Plains

These vast expanses of swaying grasses produce melodious sounds when caressed by the wind. Locals say these songs are the murmurs of Sylvana herself, offering counsel to those who know how to listen.

The Sylvan Mountains

A mountain range draped in forested cliffs, where emerald waterfalls form sacred pools. These mountains, rich in minerals and rare crystals, house the Guardians of Andoris—fairy-animal hybrids who protect these sacred places.

The Luminous Marshes

At a distance, glowing marshlands stretch, inhabited by giant fireflies and sentient carnivorous plants. Though mystical, these places are perilous for the unwary.

The World Tree

At the center of Andoris stands the World Tree, a titanic structure that connects the earthly realm to Sylvana's divine plane. Its roots stretch across all of Andoris, binding every element of nature into a magical harmony.

Nations of Andoris

Névrisea : The Coalition of Human Kingdoms

Unified under the banner of the Order of Pure Radiance, Névrisea is a coalition of human kingdoms that reject magic and advocate for ideological purity. Their strict theocracy was forged after the Insurrection, with the mission to unite humans against "external" and magical threats.

Kaldura : The Independent Bastion

Nestled in the sturdy mountains of Kaldura lies an independent kingdom that refuses the radical doctrines of Névrisea. Led by a moderate monarchy and advised by a wise council, Kaldura advocates for tolerance and coexistence between peoples.

Ochokito : The Feudal Empire of the Thériants

A region inspired by Bushido and the values of honor and balance, Ochokito is a feudal empire ruled by an emperor and divided into four major clans. The Thériants, humanoids with animal traits, live in harmony with their environment.

Ellanoris : The Elven Kingdom

Protected by Sylvana, Ellanoris is a kingdom of elves in perfect symbiosis with nature. Their living cities, suspended between ancient trees, testify to their mastery of magic and their dedication to natural laws.

Néméris : The Kingdom of Dark Elves

Hidden beneath the surface of the realm, Néméris is the stronghold of the Dark Elves, a pragmatic society forged in shadows. Their vast underground networks and mastery of dark magic, known as Sor'naath, make them formidable survivors and artisans of unique power.

Khaz'Dûm : The Dwarven Kingdom

Deep within the mountains lies Khaz'Dûm, the proud kingdom of the dwarves. Renowned artisans and master blacksmiths, they carve their citadels from living rock and craft unrivaled relics.

Éthéria : The Mystical Kingdom

Transformed by magic, Éthéria is a unique kingdom where its inhabitants possess affinities with the elements. Its capital, Elios, radiates majesty, and its citizens, part-human and part-elemental, embody a perfect symbiosis between magic and civilization. This hybrid kingdom serves as a beacon of magic in the world of Andoris.

Legacy and Influence

Andoris is much more than a world : it is a symbol of balance, life, and resilience. Foreigners who respect its laws find unparalleled beauty and peace within its borders. But for those who defy its principles, Andoris becomes a living prison, where every leaf, every stream, and every gust of wind rises to repel the intruder.

Peoples of Andoris

Humans

Pragmatic and expansionist, Humans have played a central role in the periods of conflict in Andoris. They often have a utilitarian view of nature, seeking to exploit the kingdom's resources for their survival and prosperity. While some embrace the teachings of Sylvana, a significant portion remains tied to anthropocentric doctrines, causing tensions with other peoples.

Elves

Firstborn of Sylvana, the Elves are the guardians of nature and masters of sylvan magic. Their wisdom and longevity make them respected advisors. The Dark Elves, once corrupted by dark magic, now live in exile in Néméris but still share cultural ties with their cousins.

Thériants

A people of unclear origin, the Thériants embody the instincts of nature. Each individual bears different animal traits: some have wolf ears, others bird wings or fox tails. They coexist with the fauna and flora, often seen as mystical or cursed beings according to human beliefs.

Dwarves

Though foreign to the very essence of Andoris, the Dwarves find unique resources they attempt to exploit with caution. Many have learned to respect nature after conflicts with the Elves and Sylvana's spirits.

Orcs

Contrary to their reputation in other worlds, the Orcs of Andoris are loyal allies of the Elves. Living in harmony with their environment, they consider themselves protectors of the fauna.

Éthérians

Evolved beings tied to magical currents, the Ethérians possess elemental affinities marked by unique physical traits: colored hair, crystalline horns, and a mystical aura. Their presence is unique to Andoris, and although few in number, they are highly respected.
