The Horsemen
The Horsemen were formed by Viskara, The Creator at the beginning of The Schism in order to cull the world and its inhabitants.
The Horsemen are broken off spirits of Azdur that represent four inherent concepts of death: war, plague, famine, and slaughter.
The Horsemen reside in The Four Quadrants of Abbadon, each controlling a quadrant and its resident daemons.
The Horsemen are characterised by their arrogance. They feel that they are the strongest and most untouchable beings in all of creation. They understand that they were formed from the sheer concept of death itself and each feels that they have become the new definition. Quanros, the Horsemen's leader, is most characterised by this arrogance, beliving himself to be the ultimate destroyer of worlds and life, surpassing his 'father'.
The Horsemen are also characterised however, by fear. Though they would never admit it, they are terrified of Azdur ever breaking free of the bonds that keep him suspended as a permenant eclipse over their home. They know that should the bonds break, Azdur will absorb his children and remove them from existence, going back to simply existing as the manifestation of all the horsemen wish they were.
