The Architect
The Architect is the The External responsible for long term planning and keeping their mission on track.
The Architect may be the External who has the least to do with the mortal races, primarily keeping to herself and offering guidance to her fellow Externals on where to go and what to do. Somewhat of a sage, The Architect can foresee issues, and may dispatch a External to an area to assist, sending The Gardener to lands of famine, or The Warrior to lands under the thumb of a brutal tyrant looking to commit sacrifices to an evil God.
The Architect is similar to The Caretaker in her role, overseeing mortals and ensuring their continues survival. However while The Caretaker finds issues by traveling throughout the world, looking at the small details and interacting with the supposed 'little people', The Architect looks at big picture, judging the rise and fall of Empires and Nations, the beginning and end of wars, and determining if External intervention is needed.
This by no means makes her a leader of The Externals, as many find her overbearing, or too cautious, some feeling that her plans are too long term, and that short term suffering for the greater good is not a price worth paying. The Architect is the pinnacle of passive neutrality, allowing a forest to burn so that a new village can be built, allowing a village to be burnt so a hero can rise up to save it. In this they often match The Challenger, but in a way that is further removed, often confounding those around her with plans lasting centuries, keeping to her isolation and her schemes.
