Panait, The Sixteenth

Panait, The Sixteenth was for a long time the last land claimed by the Dawn Empire. Joining the empire 200 years ago and prospering ever since. Panait is home to many halflings including the old King Berrimus. A wise and noble ruler who lived to the record age of 187, old even for a halfling. The son of the King who signed the treaty and raised to be a wise noble leader, his words of wisdom were respected by all those who could hear it. However after his daughter and son-in-law died in an accident the rule of the duchy falls upon his young teenage grandson. Helped by his regents and advisors the young King looks to live up to his grandfather’s legacy.
Panait is unique among duchies for still using the title King for their ruler, a proviso of the treaty signed with Emperor Crenus I as a sign of respect for their long dynasty.
