Luca Raynell was a candidate for the 785 PS mayoral election of Swordbreak.
A independent merchant who made his wealth on trading cotton from Jorlund throughout Almus.
His mayoral campaign ran on the promise of helping those lower in the ranks of the city, upholding small businesses, and promoting a freer lifestyle. He also many votes by targeting the at time current mayor Miranda Seastar, claiming she was just a puppet for the Duke and not a true independent leader.
His hopes of election were dashed however as information tying him to the smuggler Quintin di Simone and the new drug Rush was published throughout the city only a week before the election, The reveal of his criminal links destroyed all public faith in him. He lost in a landslide defeat with Seastar being re-elected.
Raynell also once held an exquisite collection of magic items and paintings, however in a stoke of bad luck many of these were stolen only nights before the information of his criminal misdoings were published.
Penniless and with a ruined reputation, Raynell has not been seen since the election, some wondering if he has gone to ground to avoid charges from the city, and others wondering if one of the nefarious forces he dealt with have taken him off the board to ensure he can't out them as well.
