Tip
The tip of this writing tool is most often covered in filigree patterns coated in Electro-Saxum dust.
At the hole where the ink will flow out sits another small Electro-Saxum gem which doesn't only sit there for adornment but has the crucial duty of relaying the autors Electro-Signum into the ink.
Hull & Cap
The hull and cap of the Kaleidostift can vary wildly and can be freely chosen by the recipient of the pen.
Most common choices include steel or wood, frequently adorned with elaborate patterns and/or the initials of the recipient.
Ink
The ink used by the Kaleidostift is solely created by the University of Mensus and follows a secret recipe.
The only known thing is, that it is a mixture of normal - slightly altered - ink which subsequently is infused with Nature- and Mind-Saxum.
Function
Encryption
The encryption with the use of the Kaleidostift can be roughly split in 3 steps.
Establishing a constant flow of Electricity-Singum
This step is needed to keep the ink activated and prepare it for further "instructions" that will be given in the last step.
Writing the actual document. Here it is to note, that at this stage the "key" is imparted into the document.
Key meaning, the tool to decypher the text again.
This Key is normally a signature imparted by the users Signum and is as unique as a fingerprint.
A Signature can be altered by the user - this takes a lot of effort thought.
Encrypting the Document.
By regulating the flow of Electricity-Signum and adding Mind- and Nature-Signum into the mix, the autor can now encrypt the message to his desire, either by manually controlling the flow or letting nature take its course.
The outcome can range widely, it depends on the users knowledge and proficiency as well as if it is naturally or manually encrypted.
Results can be a very simple chiffre that can be decyphered even without the use of Signum up to the text becoming a picture showing no resemblence to a text whatsoever.
Decryption
To decrypt a message, a
Saxum infused sheet is needed, this is layed on top of the message.
Subsequently, the reader needs to establish a constant flow of Electro-Signum and mix in Mind-Signum - just like the encryption stage - to emulate the autors "Key".
This process can best be compared to two waves cancelling each other out and to get the correct message out of the encrypted one, both "waves" have to cancel each other out perfectly.

Author's Notes
The Terms "Signum" and "Saxum" will be frequently read - to save some time, here is what they mean:
Signum is the Magic in Orcerta - Fire-Signum can be equated to fire magic.
Saxum is a mineral used to use Signum and vice versa, Signum is used to alter the behaviour of Saxum.
