While many think that a Goki is simply the strongest avian, a Goki competition is way more than that.
Beside fighting for the title and showing to be the best hunter in the settlement, all candidates need to also absolve a few tests regarding settlement management and communication to other cities.
The old Goki does not need to partake in written or oral tests but most often chooses to, to show their superiority.

Requirements

An Avian has to reach adulthood to partake in a Goki-Contest.
Other than that, no requirements are needed.

Responsibilities

All relations towards other cities and settlements are tended to by the Goki and he is responsible to make new connections.
Further more, all political choices as well as all choices regarding what happens to the settlement are taken up by the Goki.

Benefits

The Goki of a settlement enjoys a lot of different benefits like getting the prime cut of every hunt and taking as much money out of the settlements monetary reserves as he likes.

Cultural Significance

The role of a Goki is the most important role in an Avian settlement due to its many responsibilities that concern the whole population.
Other Settlements compare the Goki to being a Major of a city, while this may be true size-wise, a Goki holds way more power in regards what happens so the people and the settlement as a whole.
