Oveny's fortifications had been brutally opened by the ingenious actions of an officer, Estofar . After brutal fighting on the opening, countless bodies are massed where the wall once stood. The Forternian armies purposely retreated for the night, which inspired some of the Demon defenders to use the opportunity to escape.
  Two Arms of the Imperial Bodyflee the besieged city of Oveny under the cover of night. The tired vanguard slits the throats of the few baring their way. Passing through the corpse-filled opening in the fortress walls, they leave a bloody trail the snow fails to mask. They escape eastward, away from their duties and into treachery.
