Session 97: When Last we met 10/6/24

General Summary

When last we met, The party had holed themselves up inside the Abraxios Academy for a total of 10 days As Mistral poured over the Book of Vile Darkness. At first looking for solutions to destroy it, but then to just absorb all the nefarious information contained within. The reading takes a toll on him as he succumbs physically and metnally to the snare of the book. What repurcussions this will hold in future remains unseen. 
The party take a sojourn outside the academy into the city proper. Not before The Headmistress ensures Mistral will not be a danger to anyone while in his bag of holding. She tests his death aura capabilities on a few animals from their beastiary and figure out that Being in the bag of holding does not transfer his malignant aura to other living things. 
So the party is free to move about the city. They take to buying and selling some of their treasures they secured in their many travels, Conducting business with Dainarv and Isaac of Isaac's arcanum, a particularly snooty Gnome. 
After that, the party returns to their home base of the Abraxios academy, wherein they find a group of people are looking for them. They claim they are trying to get back stolen property (As in the Book of Vile Darkness) and that The King in Yellow will not stop the Star of Carcossa from colliding with their world if they don't return it. The party identifies Ostera and other members of the Order of the Perpetual shroud. They get into a tense confrontation with Saraeris, the Headmistress. Meanwhile the party is out for Justice against Ostera. Celeste launches an arrow hitting her shoulder and Mistral, not wanting to part with his newfound power, Summons a Demon from the Abyss and a battle is about to ensue. 
And that's where we'll pick up next time!

Dainarv - the debonnaire tiefling curator of Dainarv's Oddities. Was pleased to see the party again and conducted much business with them.
Isaac - Proprietor of Isaac's Arcanum. He's a little short and impatient. Probably from dealing with students all the time. But he is agreeable enough to conduct business. Sold Celeste diamonds and gilded feathers.

• Mistral completes his reading of the Book of Vile Darkness and has become physically bound to it

• Party leaves the Academy to go shopping briefly
• Returns to the Academy to find the Perpetual Shroud inquiring about them. 
• Party attacks them when they see Ostera is among them.
