Session 86: When Last We Met 7/14/24

General Summary

When last me met, The party were transported from the horrors of the Play to a new set of horrors. Arriving in some temple in an unknown location. The players do their best to get their bearings. Two of their companions are awoken from a magical sleep this effect put them under. This and the previous event all but confirms The King in Yellow's identity to Sebastian and he proceeds to have an existential crisis which Vandread quickly pulls him out of. 
With renewed bravery and vigor, The party follows a mysterious voice beckoning them onward. They follow it and proceed through a strange temple with strangely lifelike statues. They Proceed to a bridge crossing which Romaia detects has some sort of magical trap set up at the other end. The party plan to have Mistral float them over in a bag of holding. This seems to work as nothing happens when mistral floats across the chasm of water. He ejects his companions on the other side and they proceed down a few narrow hallways before reaching a vast door. 
The voice returns once again, urging them onward. Vandread sends his steel defender through the massive doors and reveals some type of throne room. They apprehensively enter and the voice returns now seeming to echo all around them due to the reverberation of this chamber. It Urges them to kneel before her altar and receive her blessing. Mistral starts to feel a vague familiarity to creepy stories he heard from his childhood. He correlates this with Sebastian who relays tales from the ancient world of vain people who were cursed by some other force to live forever yet lose their good looks. Driving them to madness and malevolence. And other... powers granted to them by their curse. Mistral Urges anyone who has a mirror to get it out as quickly as possible. All the while this disembodied voice is urging them to kneel before her altar. Romaia, armed with Truesight, Sees two creatures ahead of them posing as statues.  
The party starts to make preparations to attack whatever this thing is, Mistral casts Spike Growth, Celeste Knocks and arrow and casts Hunter's Mark on one of these creatures pretending to be a statue. At that moment. The voice appears behind them spouting curses of death upon them. From out of the shadows steps a humanoid figure. Femenine in form but with clear signs of malformity from her hair to her toes. Some of the party notices her piercing. Glowing eyes.  And that's where we'll pick up next time!

Maleeka - Wizard Academic. Found lying unconscious within this temple. Used her magical abilities to sus out a magical trap that lie in wait for the party. 
Sebastian - Warlock Academic. Found gibbering and crying at the revelation of The King in Yellow. Urged onward by the party to complete his mission.

7th of Morrigan?

• Party awoke inside a temple of some sort 
• Explored the place, looking for answers and a way out
• Encountered.... Something. 

The time of day is not currently known. It was evening before the party were teleported to this new location.
